How To Create This Look

1. After trimming, shaping and pushing back cuticles on the nails, prep by wiping away excess oils and lotions using Can-West’s Base Prep. (no primer necessary).
2. Apply your base coat in a thin coat across the nails, cure 2 minutes. (With UV cured polish the nails do not leave a “sticky” layer so if your nails are still stcky you have painted on too thick of a layer or you need more curing time)
3. Apply your colored polish in THIN layers ( as many as it takes ) cure 2 minutes in-between each layer
4. Next I applied my sparkle polish over my color in a thin layer, cure for 2
5. Follow with your Amore Water Decals (instructions for use on the back)
6. Once dry, top coat, cure for 2, and Enjoy!

How To Create This Look:  

1. Prep, apply bonder, and build with your sculpt and shine to your desired shape.  Shape and buff your nails to a smooth finish.
2. Start with the pinky red color (LE cha cha cherry), two nails at a time and do two thin coats on each nail, curing between the coats.  I added a light coat of LE sparkle over the pink to make it look “juicy”.
3. Using a dark green, paint on a French tip curing between each nail. If you feel you need to, do two coats of the green.  This is LE Green Acres.
4. We mixed LE Green Acres, Onyx White-Out, and a hint of Amore Primary Yellow to get the light green in this photo.  Using a skinny art brush make squiggly lines to make the stripes in the rind of the watermelon.
5. Above your green smile paint a thin white line (Onyx White-Out).
6. Using your dotting tool paint on black polka dots  (Onyx Black- Out), and drag the dot to make the seeds with your art brush.  Swipe a tiny stripe of white on each seed for dimension.
7. Gloss your nails and remove your dispersion layer, now you’re all ready for Roughrider season ladies!

What you need to create this look:

• Amore Bonder

• Light blue color gel option (I had an old jar that was a mix not labeled, oops)

How to create this look:

1. Create your desired shape (I chose to do a stiletto).  Just before you apply your sculpt and shine to build the nail, pat the holodots around the natural smile line and fade them up the nail plate.  You can do this on all 5 nails at once.

2. File and shape your nail, buff smooth, and clean your nails before continuing.

3. Choose two colors for your butterflies, (I chose Brisa Purple and a light blue for the one and Brisa Purple and Amore Plum Orchid for the other).  Paint a line of each color side by side and drag a striping brush through it horizontally.  Paint 2 more lines a little bit away from it and drag into the middle where the other lines meet.  This creates your wings.

4. For a side view of the butterfly, paint a line of each color side by side and drag through horizontally creating one wing.

5. Take your black on a thin art brush and create the bodies to your butterflies and antennaes.

6. I added barbed wire using the art brush to paint weaving lines going over each other with spikes that poke out here and there.  I wanted it to look like it was wrapped around each nail.

7. Quick Seal your nails and you’re done!

These nails have some meaning to me.  They symbolize beauty being trapped for me. Butterflies are viewed as being free, serene and with the harsh look of the barbed wire I wanted to capture a heaviness.  An inability to do as one pleased.  Take from them what you will.  Have fun!

How to create this look:

• Prep, Prime, and Form your nails
• Apply and even layer of Onyx Complete on your nails in order to “Bond” your gel nails.
• Using your Light Elegance Pastels apply three colors on each nail, start at the bottom free edge and working your way up to the cuticle of each nail and apply a section of color on a diagonal, do not cure until all three colors are applied. lightly blend the colors in between in section (be careful not to move to slowly on this step, the gel will run) Cure each nail individually.
• Once all nails have color applied pain a smoothing layer of Onyx Complete over entire nail, cure.
• With a FINE grit file buff and shape your nails being careful not to file through the colored gel.
• Once buffed apply your design
• Top Gloss, and ENJOY!

Follow these instructions to maximize the effectiveness of Steamer Cleaner.

• Remove glass jar from steamer.
• Add Steamer Cleaner to the glass jar with warm water. Fill half way.
• Stir mix until Steamer Cleaner has dissolved.
• Return the glass jar to its original location and fill with hot water until the jar is completely full and the element is completely submerged.
• Allow facial steamer to sit over night.
• Empty glass jar into sink, use a cloth to wipe down element and jar. Clean and rinse jar with clean water.

Now so far I haven’t told you anything you don’t already know. And for some of you research experts, well, if you want to write for me just let me know.

Here’s where some confusion still exists as to what to do with this interesting new product.  Some nail techs have moved their gel clients to this category.  Some polish clients have been moved to gel polish, and what have we accomplished?  We must remember that this product has created a new category altogether.  It fills the space between gel and regular nail polish. Remember, not all polish clients want to be bothered using acetone to remove the polish, and few gel clients want to lose the great wear ability of gel.  So focus on the “category” and not on switching your clients to this great new product!  Make sure you know what each client is looking for before you suggest they switch. Keep in mind, as always, it’s all about the client.  Ask about the client’s lifestyle, do they spend hours on a keyboard?  Do dishes every day?  Are they gardeners?  Mechanics?  This all helps determine if you should suggest they move to this category.  Remember that you’re the expert, and that you need to ask questions before you recommend.

Now about the new products coming soon to a distributor near you…  It seems that to build in more wear that manufacturers are trying to make their product more gel-like.  That sounds good, right?  Well then, why not just go to a soak-off gel?  Well we’ve likely been doing just fine with our clients for years with regular gel, right?  So, then where should manufacturers go with this?  Some of my clients have some suggestions.  If gel works for you and your clients are happy with it, don’t rock the boat.  If you need to get your pedicure clients out the door quickly and safely with no smudges, or just keep their polish looking good longer, maybe this is for that client.

Now please don’t be too hard on me for what I’m about to say.  Most manufacturers / distributors have deemed that you don’t have to be gel trained to use the “gel polish” products.  From my point of view, you still need to know all about sanitation, how to properly file, good product application, and so on, for the best and safest result for your client. This is an ideal situation for someone doing hair services to help fill up their day profitably, and add new tools to their toolbox.  After all, a busy day, a happy client, and a good income are about as good as it gets!

How to create this look:

For All Fingers excluding the ring finger (white with clover):

1. Prep, Prime and Form and bond your nails
2. To create a Chevron apply your Onyx Edge Bright at a 45 Degree angle in one corner of the nails leaving space for a second and opposite angle of colored gel on the other side ( this will be your Gold dust gel). Cure between each step.
3. Use your Brisa Sculpt to create your body of the nail, using your “H” curve formation, cure.
4. File, shape and buff your nails to your desired style, as you would before applying your top gloss for your finished product.
5. Before applying Top gloss, take your Precision Polish Pen in White and carefully ” swoop” the color from side to side on each nail (ring finger apply a line between the two colors).
6. Next take your Silkline Polish Pen in Green and using the pen side of this tool draw clovers, let dry.
7. Apply top gloss, cure, ENJOY!

For The Ring Fingers (mostly green):

1. After Bonder has been applied, use your Brisa sculpt directly afterwards to create your nails body (skip the edge bright white entirely on these nails), cure. After nails have been shaped, filed and buffed paint your top half of your nail with gold and the bottom half Emerald Green by Light Elegance, cure, buff smooth.

How to create this look:

1. Bond and build as you would for a full color nail.  Cure for two minutes.

2. Shape and buff for a smooth application of color.

3. Apply 2 coats of Autumn Mist on all 10 nails, I like to cure after 2 nails for this color.

4. Using your dotting tool make spots that are not perfectly round, one color at a time, so your spots keep their shape.  Cure after each nail.

5. Do this for each of the colors you wish to use.  I had the four different colored spots (Calypso, Primary Yellow, Charcoal, Park Avenue Pink).

6. With a very thin art brush carefully outline parts of the spots but not the entire shape with the Black Out.  Cure between each nail.

7. Take your sparkles and apply them sparingly over the spots for some depth and pizzazz.  I used Gun Metal sparkle on all of the charcoal spots and Gold dust on the other colors.  For this step if you feel comfortable you can do all five nails and cure them at once.

8. Gloss over your art and cure for two minutes.

• After your polish designs dry add your channel stickers and then top gloss

What you Will Need:

• Amore Bonder
• Brisa Sculpt
• Onyx Colored Gel in Lavender Lace
• Silkline Polish Pens in
• White
• Black
•  Silver
•  Purple
• Brisa Top Gloss

How To Create This Look:

• Prep, Prime, and Form all of your nails. Apply your Amore Bonder and cure.
• Skip your white tips and go straight to your body of your nail, create your “H” curve and cure
• Next, file your nails to your desired shape and length, Buff Smooth.
• Apply your Onyx Lavender Lace over the entire nail as you would a polish, cure.
• Wipe nails with your Can-West Post Service Wipe as to prep for your nail Design.
• Apply your Flowers using either a dotting tool or in my case the pen side of your Silkline Colored Nail Art Pens. Apply flowers in any order you wish. (TIP Apply some flowers on the side of your nail and do not complete the entire flower, this gives the look of realism) 
• After your finished your flowers apply a small dot of silver to the center of each flower
• Apply your Gloss Top and Cure! Enjoy!
